Oceans
PADI
PADI AWARE Foundation is a publicly funded non-profit with three registered charities across the globe. Our mission is to drive local action for global ocean conservation. We advance our mission through citizen science, public policy and community grants. With PADI we drive towards our collective vision to achieve a balance between humanity and the ocean.
Blue Marine Foundation
Blue Marine is filling a niche in the NGO world, enabling marine conservation to happen fast and effectively. What differentiates Blue Marine is that we are well-connected and determined, we seize opportunities as they arise and get things done. We forge new partnerships and challenge the status quo.
Sea Shepherd
Sea Shepherd’s sole mission is to protect and conserve the world’s oceans and marine wildlife. We work to defend all marine wildlife, from whales and dolphins, to sharks and rays, to fish and krill, without exception. Sea Shepherd’s primary goal is to greatly enhance a government’s own capacity to patrol, monitor, and enforce their own laws.
Sustainability
In the digital age, talk is cheap and actions speak louder than words. At Elementary, sustainability is more than a term we toss around — it’s a principle that permeates everything we do. From the choice of our hosting providers to our internal processes and policies, we are dedicated to walking the talk on sustainability.
Starting with our infrastructure, we partner with environmentally-conscious hosting providers who share our commitment to sustainability. These providers harness renewable energy sources for their data centers, reducing their carbon footprint and contributing to a greener internet. By choosing these providers, we ensure that our digital services are not just efficient and reliable, but also environmentally responsible.
Internally, we’ve integrated sustainability into our operations and policies. We encourage and implement eco-friendly practices such as paperless workflows, energy-efficient workspaces, and responsible waste management. We prioritize virtual meetings over travel to minimize carbon emissions, and when travel is necessary, we opt for public transportation or carpooling whenever possible.
But we don’t stop at reducing our environmental impact—we aim to create a positive impact. We participate in carbon offset programs, contributing to projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions or absorb carbon dioxide, effectively neutralising our carbon footprint.
Moreover, we’re keen on promoting a circular economy within our operations. We consider the life-cycle of the products we use, opting for items that are durable, recyclable, or made from recycled materials whenever possible. We also strive to extend the lifecycle of our digital products, using modular design principles that allow for updates and improvements without the need for complete overhauls.
We also recognise the importance of maintaining transparency and holding ourselves accountable. We regularly assess and report on our environmental performance, setting ambitious yet achievable sustainability goals and striving to meet and exceed them.
